Enhanced Prior Year Reporting

Prior to Peachtree 2009, only the most recently closed year information was available for general ledger and financial statement reporting purposes. Beginning with the Peachtree 2009 release, information will be available for general ledger and financial

statement reporting purposes for all closed years. This will allow you to run general ledger reports and financial statement reports for all years that you have closed using Peachtree 2009 and future releases. For this reason, if you need to close the year at this time, we recommend that you upgrade to Peachtree 2009 first and then close the year. This way, you will be able to immediately see the benefit of this feature by being able to report on two closed years instead of just one.

Real-Time Error Alerts

Now, Peachtree will inform you when you try to save a transaction with any non-standard Accounts Payable or Accounts Receivable account. In addition, you will be alerted when a non-cash account is entered into a cash account field in Receipts or Payments. This makes it easier to catch potential accounting errors BEFORE they happen.

Cash Flow Manager

The Cash Flow Manager gives you a powerful tool you can use to quickly grasp the state of your business’s cash. It shows you the balances of your cash accounts, cash expected to come in, and cash expected to go out. In addition, you can modify settings, such as the time frame you want to see, the types of transactions (invoices, quotes, purchases, and so on) you include and expected totals.

We improved the Payroll Setup wizard. After you’ve answered the questions in the wizard, more of your setup is completed for you. Also, we added support for many additional benefits.

Improved Employee Records

For richer reporting and better compliance, we now offer new employee fields including suffix, birth date, gender, and rehire date. We now have a Vacation and Sick Time tab on the employee record that you can use to easily vary the time-off options by employee.

Improved Payroll Formula Setup

We’ve improved the Payroll Formulas windows (formerly Payroll Tax Tables) to make them easier to use. We made the terminology friendlier, added links to Help and examples, and added fields to walk you through the setup of different categories of formulas.

Improved Payroll Reports

Payroll Tax Liability Report

With the improved Payroll Tax Liability Report, you are able to review the liability calculated per employee and the liability based on total wages.

Vacation and Sick-Time Report

You will now be able to preview, print and e-mail vacation and sick time reflecting activity and balance.

Other Payroll Improvements

Based on your suggestions, we’ve made other payroll improvements for Release 2009.

New Crystal Reports 2008 Integration

This feature is only available in Peachtree Premium Accounting and above.

Peachtree now integrates with Crystal Reports 2008. Use Crystal Reports 2008 to get an improved report viewing experience, enhanced report designer productivity and advanced information visualization capability. You can create what-if models that enable you to make important decisions. Crystal Reports 2008 gives you a more streamlined and flexible report designer.

Crystal Reports 2008 is included with Peachtree Premium Accounting 2009 and Peachtree Quantum 2009 and can be installed from CD 2.

Improved Time and Expense Tracking

In Release 2009 the Time Tickets and Expense Tickets windows have been remodeled to make them easier to use.  Click the links for more information on each of the windows.

Time Tickets

An employee or vendor uses time tickets to record time spent performing an activity. The activity and duration can later be applied to an employee’s paycheck and/or included on a customer’s sales invoice. The activity can also be recorded for administrative purposes to track various employee functions (for example, bookkeeping).

Expense Tickets

Expense tickets record expenses for a customer, a job, or administrative purposes. Expense tickets recorded for a customer or job can later be applied to customer invoices.

Time Ticket Weekly Entry (Time Tickets)

The Time Ticket Weekly Timesheet Entry window provides an alternative method to entering and maintaining individual time tickets using a weekly timesheet format. The weekly time sheet displays all the time tickets for a selected employee or vendor based on the Week Including date (Monday through Sunday that corresponds to the selected date). Each unit duration entered under a daily column represents an individual time ticket for a given activity item, customer, job, administrative task, billing status, and billing rate.
