Set Pesos for Peachtree Check Printing

Oct 2, 2010   //   by Dan Cabana   //   Peachtree  //  Comments Off

I used to design check printing for most Peachtree client implementation much like a check writer.  With recent versions of Peachtree you can now set your amount in words for check printing with the word “Pesos” in the end even when Peachtree does not have the multi-currency feature.  This is one item the Peachtree has an edge over QuickBooks.  So how to do this?

1.  Inside Peachtree go to Main Menu > Report & Forms > Forms > Checks.

2. Click the Check format that you want to change from the list on the left pane.  An image of the form will display on the right pane.

3. Click the Customize button under the picture of the form image and the Form Design window will display.

4.  Right Click on the data field “Check Amount in Words” and click on the option “Change Fields” – the Add Field menu will display.

5.  Click the “Individual Fields” tab.

6.  In the drop-down menu, click select the field name “Check Amount in Words, My Currency”.

7.  Double click on the data field “Check Amount in Words, My Currency” and the Data Field Options box will display.

8.  Click the “Advanced” button on the lower left corner.  The Number Formatting box will display.

9.  In the Number Formatting box, you will see the default word “Dollars”.  This can be changed to “Pesos”.

10.  Click the “Save” button from the top of the screen and the “Save As” box will display.

11.  Enter a new name for this form int eh “Form Name” box and click the “Save” button.

12.  Select your customized form from the available forms the next time you print a check.

Note that under a multi-user setup, there is a file with “frm” extension that you need to copy to the other computer when you need to do check printing in that other computer.
